Trained academically in psychology and professionally in the healing arts, she graduated from Wellesley College in Psychology and went on to a non-traditional education for an M.A. from Beacon College and a Ph.D. from Columbia Pacific University. She also graduated from the Barbara Brennan School of Healing.

Anamika lives in Malibu, CA with Shaqqara, her beloved Afghan Hound. Malibu is also home to her non-profit Temple of Awakening.
