Anamika’s Workshop: The Power of Self-Acceptance
We’ve been growing and changing a lot this past year. In 2018, the old bedrock will continue to break apart. At the same time, a new you and a new world are emerging beyond suffering. Self-acceptance is a powerful key to this new you.
One of the main attitudes that perpetuates suffering and feels terrible is a lack of acceptance. It feels bad when we judge and hate ourselves, each other, and circumstances. When we are judging ourselves, we are in fact also judging someone else. When we are judging someone else, we are also judging ourselves.
There’s a lot we may not like about ourselves and others, including the fact that we judge. There may be things we vehemently disagree with, would never condone, and find tragic. But when we participate in judgment and hate, we spiral down into suffering, which creates pain and doesn’t allow for change.
Instead, what if you were able to accept the presence of something or someone, even when you don’t like it or agree with it? What if you were able to accept the part of you that judges, hates and rejects? When we hold ourselves and our judgement in compassion and understanding, this peace and kindness changes us. Paradoxically, it also potentially changes the very things you don’t like in yourself, others and the world!
In this workshop we will:
- identify the judgment that is causing suffering
- open beyond struggle by accepting our judgment
- experience how wonderful self-acceptance feels
- discover how the power of the self-acceptance changes your life
